After two Bachelor of Arts diplomas and electronics training as a « hardware programmer », Jean Luc Marchina began his career as a lightening technician for the theatre Vidy-Lausanne. This experience led him to creating mobile lights « lumières mobiles » for the stage. He continued his studies in Geneva at the school of Art and Design HEAD (Haute école d’art et de design).
He earned his Bachelor in visual communication, with honors, and followed with a Masters in new media. At the same time he followed courses at l’IRCAM in “interaction in real time« and »gestural filming in theatre and in dance".
From 2003 to 2006, he was an assistant in reseach at HEAD, for the projects : « Forms of interactivity » and « Mobile Caretaker ». He participated as well in the Masters program « Arts and Média » in Geneva in the course « Filming and interactive video with the software MaxMSP ».
He collaborates occasionally with the scenic director Dorian Rossel, creating video and scenic elements, in particular the the theater piece called « Intimate Panorama ».
